I was born and raised in Panama. I attended American schools in both countries. (kindergarten-PhD). I am a bilingual, bicultural Panamanian American and as a Latina I identify as a member of the BIPOC writing community. I am the proud parent of four adults and six wonderful grandchildren. I taught Spanish, ELL and Special Education for nearly thirty years in Panamá and in the US at the college, high school, middle, and elementary school levels. I currently write picture books for children in Spanish and English. I sell my self-created Spanish teaching materials through a company called Teachers-pay-Teachers. In 2014 In 2014 and 2015 I was conferred New Hampshire’s highest teaching awards. In 2019 I won a Diversity Scholarship from 12 x 12 Picture Book Challenge. I have participated in and won several writing contests. I have been a judge in Vivian Kirkfield’s #50preciouswords International Writing Contest for three years. In Susanna Leonard Hill’s recent 2025 Valentiny Writing Contest, I won third prize.

I enjoy traveling. Countries I have visited are: Argentina, Australia, Austria, China, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, England, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, and Venezuela.
